Whidbey Base Facility, Whidbey Island
Elcon worked as a subconsultant to provide electrical services for the design of Island Transit’s Base Expansion. This project includes: a single-story, 15,520 square-foot admin/ops building, a two-story, 12-bay fully-equipped maintenance building with a 37,748 square-foot footprint, a two-bay, 5,737 square-foot bus wash and fuel building with fuel tank farm.
Elcon coordinated with Puget Sound Energy to provide Island Transit with a new utility service transformer. Designed new 2,000A, 480V switchboard, new 500 kW and 125 kW standby/emergency generators. Included facility-wide alarm and IT system. Award-winning Lighting Designer, Marilee, provided a lighting design to maximize daylight harvesting, troffers, and T5HO high-bay fixtures.
