Seattle City Light

Shelby Hamlin Street Lighting

Elcon designed the electrical and lighting system for Seattle City Light’s Shelby and Hamlin Streets at the Montlake neighborhood. Power was obtained from existing transformers on power poles located in the alleys at six locations of the site. The team coordinated with the residents through outreach meetings and replaced all existing HID luminaires on light poles with new poles and new LED luminaires. Elcon’s subconsultant provided support with civil engineering and surveying of the entire area. Elcon coordinated with WSDOT and SDOT to prepare and submit a master use permit for review and approval; Seattle City Light for the connection to the existing electrical system; and the City of Seattle arborist to route underground electrical conduits to avoid existing tree roots.
