Zoltan has more than 45 years of experience across the globe in management, design, field installation oversight, testing and activation of traction electrification systems for heavy rail, high speed rail, light rail, streetcar and electric trolleybus transportation systems. He has provided OCS design, design review, field support, testing and commissioning, and personnel safety training for both AC high speed and commuter rails as well as DC traction electrification systems for third rail, light rail, streetcar and electric trolleybus. Zoltan was the lead engineer responsible for inspection, field acceptance testing and commissioning, and rail activation of the original LA Metro Blue and Green Lines.
Prior to joining Elcon Associates, Zoltan worked for British Rail, Parsons Transportation Group, URS Corporation and Systra Consulting; all major firms involved in transportation design. He is a member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers in the U.K. and previously contributed as an Ad-Hoc Rules Committee Member for California Public Utilities Commission General Order(s) 95 and 128 (for the Development of Standards for DC and 25 kV AC Traction Power).
